Late in Info-centre we picked a city-map and drew our way to the nearest ruines)) Yes, it was predictable, but we really love them, so we can't help it! So, the whole our walking in Bad Dürkheim:
Just in front of the Main Rail Station we immediately found a nice fountain! Yes, we love them as well. In summer much more, but now also)
This is Wurstmarktbrunnen, that means, the fountain of the wine festival in this city.
It takes place each autumn, and is the biggest wine festival in Germany. Surprisingly, it is named actually "sausage-festival". Just get over it, it is Germany) So, the motives of the fountain are about what people usually can see at Wurstmarkt festival.
Obviously, sausages! Shaya has absolutely nothing common with those dogs!
And some other figures:
So, despite the weather it is already spring!
Our way to Info leaded us through Kurpark with that nice church
The park is small, but really cute
There was a cappella on the other hill, opposite where we were now. I took a photo with huge zoom (the lantern was near us, on the street where were we)
A house near Info-centre
We, making a route
This bush is very popular in Rheinland-Pfalz
It is not visible on the photo, but I just don't want to forget the slogan on this cafe: "Augen schließen und Speise genießen!". In English: "close your eyes and enjoy the dishes". So we can imagine that the design in the cafe is not so nice...))
We cannot use to combination of past and present in Germany... It is marvelous!.
Just a street
We want somewhere on this hill now...
The river despite the map was anyway surprisingly) It looks like a crack between the streets, like a break in reality!
Ducks are funny)
And me as well...
I found a way where to cross a big street! But not here...)
Another cafe
So, do you remember? Spring! Narcissuses everywhere!
We are on our way. To understand our mood just look at Shaya...)
We found a way upstairs!
Short pause to catch a view...
In another life I would like to have this villa!.
The way into the forest!
I don't like their map, it is not detailed at all.
We are above the city!
The forest is wonderful.
So, now we are on the other side of the hill. We were there just few minutes ago!
We crossed the big road again and try to find the way up, to come to Abbey ruins. By the way, nice picture. I have no idea what it means.
Unusual design of building and garage... Schön)
The church looks like from some creepy movie...
To understand why we took this photo, please, pay attention to the fasteners... They fixed several trunks that they could not go away! Why? Any idea? I see, they are pretty picturesque, but it is anyway strange.
At last! We reached ruins and have a lunch there.
According to annotation these sculptures depict some gods... Apparently, Celtic ones. But I could not get, how can be connected cites from Bible and picture of the Yggdrasil, the great ash-tree....
So, the Ruins, enjoy!
The view from the ruins to the valley is amazing
Back to ruins - the reconstruction of this abbey buildings complex in 1050.
On our way back we found this beauty
Then we came back to the city, drank schorle (wine with mineral water), ate brezel (kind of bread) and took a train to KL. It was wonderful walk, we hope to come here back in summer to visit another ruins, twice far from the city... I am sure it will be done in some months)
