Eltern bei uns! Kaiserslautern, Bingen, Rüdesheim, Pirmasens usw, 09.-20.07.2018

As usual per year, Nerr's parents visited us this summer. This time they came with Nerr's brother and Nerr's niece. We planed entertainment for almost everyday and there are coming 5 photoreports about the most exciting events: from 1) Draisine tour, 2) Rail road museum in Neustadt am Weinstraße, 3) visit to Kassel on the way to 4) MPS (Medieval Phantastic Spectacle) in Bückeburg and 5) visit to Marburg on the way back home.

So here you can see interesting photos from all other days with short comments.)

The first day is traditionally dedicated to our city, Kaiserslautern. Some photos from already known places...

from a little bit different point of view...

Traditionally, Humbergturm. Always beautiful)

Wildpark

We saw a lynx so close to us!..But we were so excited, that our hands were trembling and the photos are not good...(((

A very content bull

Nerr's mother collects the fish of Kaiserslautern, so it is a part of her collection. (Maybe we should create a special post here with the collection of the fish...)

A sculpture near the stadion. We have no idea what it means. And the stadion itself.

We were one day in Pirmasens, visited an interactive museum, Dynamicum. It was good, but it was more to do something, than to make a photo, so no photos from inside, sorry. We have some from outside of the museum, park with some installations from museum there, too.

As a fish is a symbol of Kaiserslautern and for example a bear is a symbol of Berlin, a bull is a symbol of Pirmasens. One of the reason, that the biggest industry in the city is a shoe-making, and traditionally it was done from cows skin, so... The bulls.

We also were on Rhein, in Bingen and Rüdesheim. We were there already 4 times (but didn't make any report! how so?!), so nothing really new, but just nice pictures are always good to see).
First, a ferry from Bingen, Rheinland-Pfalz, to Rüdesheim, Hessen.

The city of wine-making, Rüdesheim, is a very popular touristic place.

Then we used a funicular railway. It gous from the center of Rüdesheim to the top of the hill on the Rhein shore. The whole shore are huge vineyard. The place is just wonderful

On the top of the hill we found a goal of the whole journey - Germania. This statue represents somehow a Germany itself. Grand and monumental...

The view from the top.

Then we went downward through the vineyards. A meteostation in the middle

The statue from the vineyards

Rüdesheim is really wonderful place, it preserved the charm of old quiet towns

It seems, that a symbol of Rüdesheim is a lion... No idea, why.

On another day we went with our landlord to a bike tour. Tio couldn't come, because he had on the same day a business party, that ironicallywas also a bike ride!

A dog of our landlord, Pepper. He is a good boy but loud, and Shaya doesn't like it...

A private zoo...

It was a very hot day, so Shaya had to cool herself

A church in Otterbach, an interesting fact is, that this church belongs to both religious institutes: Catholic and Protestant. They share space there, both Bibels can be found inside. Nice example of peaceful coexistant.

Besides interesting history, the church has unique handles for each door...)

Everyone enjoyed the trip)

The goal of the trip was a special pool with ice-cold water, Kneippanlage. It was perfect for the hot day!

And we had a picknick nearby

And on the way back.

So, it is the end for now, but we have another 5 stories coming!
