Kassel, 13.07.2018

The biggest journey was on weekends. We wanted to visit MPS (Mittelalterische Phantasie Spektakel) in Bückeburg, but the drive is nearly 7 hours as we decided to make one stop on the way there in Kassel and one stop on the way back in Marburg. So, Kassel.

Museums, Neustadt an der Weinstraße, 11.07.2018

This day we were in 2 museums: Rail road museum and in castle Hambacher.
The first was about different eras of trains, the second about history of the castle and its role in German history.


In this report, I will be very short in words, almost only photos, so enjoy.

Draisine tour, 12.07.2018

The first big journey was a rail bicycle tour. We rent a 3-bike platform with places for 7 persons, so with us, our 4 guests, and Schaya we were complete. The route itself has 3 stations and it is in one direction only. So we started from one terminal stop and decided to quit in the middle after 20 km. So another half of 20 km is not yet done by us, but we will certainly come back later!

So, the draisine is ready, route is fixed (it is a rail way, you can not really get a wrong turn...) Let's go!

Eltern bei uns! Kaiserslautern, Bingen, Rüdesheim, Pirmasens usw, 09.-20.07.2018

As usual per year, Nerr's parents visited us this summer. This time they came with Nerr's brother and Nerr's niece. We planed entertainment for almost everyday and there are coming 5 photoreports about the most exciting events: from 1) Draisine tour, 2) Rail road museum in Neustadt am Weinstraße, 3) visit to Kassel on the way to 4) MPS (Medieval Phantastic Spectacle) in Bückeburg and 5) visit to Marburg on the way back home.

One of some advantages of a scientist's life is conferences. We were on a few already: in Prague (Nerr), and in Toulouse (Tio). So when next opportunity (via Tio) appeared, we decided to combine a conference for one with vacations for both of us.
