Limassol, Cyprus, 11.-17.06.2018, Part I

One of some advantages of a scientist's life is conferences. We were on a few already: in Prague (Nerr), and in Toulouse (Tio). So when next opportunity (via Tio) appeared, we decided to combine a conference for one with vacations for both of us.

Verdun, France, 12.-13.05.2018

The journey was suggested by our friend Martin, who is interested in German war history, among other stuff, and we eagerly agreed to join. The goal of it was to visit two battlefields of the First World War, now presented as memorials. We will try to transmit the atmosphere of them, but it is not really possible, so we encourage everyone to visit them themselves.

So, the trip began with a train to Saarbrücken, where Martin and Nadja picked us with their car and we went to Verdun.

Czech Republic, 25.-30.12

On the Christmas holidays we traveled to our friends in Czechia. It sounds simple, but it was not. Firstly our other friend from Swiss came to Kaiserslautern by bus and on the next day three of us plus Shaya drove to Prague. Then we spent there 2 days and moved to Brno, where our friends study. There we lived another 3 days and just before the New Year Eve we drove back to home.
