Stuttgart, Internationelle Tricksfilm Festival, 06.05.2017

Before I begin I want to explain how we knew about this event.

It is kind of advertisement, but really) We go twice per month to sneak-preview in our favourite cinema - Union - and moderator there always tell about interesting news from cinematography. Last time he just told that he has several free tickets for the event and showed us the trailer for it. We were He asked who want to go and Tio went out without any hope just to show that we are interested in this kind of event and suddenly we got them, 2 tickets for one whole day. Unfortunately Tio couldn't go, so we decided that I (Nerr) go with one friend of us who occasionally lives nearby Stuttgart. So, in night from Friday to Saturday I went to Stuttgart by bus, our friend their met me, let me use her couch to spend the rest of the night and then the journey in Esslingen-Stuttgart has started!

The view from the balcony of the friend: cemetery. It is nice that in German the word means literally "peaceful courtyard", so yes, it is kind of the advantage of the appartement, if it is near cemetery)

We used train to arrive in the downtown of Stuttgart.

The cinema, that showed the most of performance of the Festival was just 5 minutes from the rail station, we are in the correct place!

Just kidding =)

The first stop was on short-cartoon competition, we watched 7 amazing works and then had 2,5 hours free to walk in the city before the next part. I didn't record anything in the hall, of course, so the next photo is from outside.

Just square in the centre, Schlossplatz.

People are sitting there, because other event from the fest is here - OpenAir show of cartoons. See the huge screen to the left.

We didn't want to watch it, so we just continue to walk.

The window to the central park from one gallery of games and new game technology:

Nice everything: street lamp, green wall, gold stag....

Continuing walk

Luckily we met "flea market" on the next square. I never visited one before, so it was precious experience. I didn't want to violate privacy of people there, so didn't take much photos there, but this stuff I couldn't stand: an ancient children chair

Then we went to shopping centre of the city

with city hall nearby

On the square we met another activity from the fest - interactive poster with the same pirate theme:

(photo from the official website)
It was demonstration of augmented reality, like in interactive game as PokemonGo, if you would take a look of the wall through a tablet, you can see the picture is moving. It was wonderful, and we took a part in some game activity and won this small souvenir from the moll - italien sweet macaroni cookie

Then we watched 2 long cartoons, The Laura's Star and Richard the Stork. The first one was really sweet and nice, but more for small children, the second was really cool, I would say it is appropriate for any age)

And then very hungry we went to Shushi-cafe and then back to the friend's home to wait for my night bus back to Kaiserslautern.

It was perfect Saturday relaxing day, but I missed my partner and our dog greatly. Hopefully next time we will be in Stuttgart together) many thanks to my host in Stuttgart,)
